A PAW-pular Park: The Seeing Eye visits the Judy Weston Garden at Watchung Park

The Judy Weston at Watchung Park was a dog lovers' dream this weekend because The Seeing Eye was in attendance!

The event invited the Montclair community to the beautiful garden to learn about the importance of The Seeing Eye’s mission. Puppy raisers brought their Seeing Eye puppies and were on hand to answer questions and greet everyone. Seeing Eye Apprentice Instructor Daniel Hedden and one of the dogs he is currently training, demonstrated how Seeing Eye dogs learn how to navigate safely around unexpected obstacles.

Attendees also had the chance to hear a first-hand perspective from Seeing Eye graduate Jessica. She talked about why she decided to get a Seeing Eye dog and how her Seeing Eye dog Jaime has helped her enhance her independence.

Longtime Seeing Eye supporter and Montclair local Josh Weston was also in attendance and received a happy tail wag greeting from Judy, the black Lab Seeing Eye puppy named after his late wife.

All those in attendance had an excellent time and were able to experience first-hand the impact of The Seeing Eye.
