Gran Fondo NJ (GFNJ)

Gran Fondo means "big ride" or "big endurance" in Italian. GFNJ brings the excitement of a mass participation ride to New Jersey. The ride — not a race — will feature timed hill climbs with all the carnival-like culture of European tour mountain climbs.

The Seeing Eye is one of three nonprofit beneficiaries of this first-time event, Gran Fondo NJ.

Seeing Eye^® President and CEO Jim Kutsch and his wife Ginger, both Seeing Eye^® dog owners, are pairing with a sighted husband and wife team, Rob Steidlitz and Kirsten Hotchkiss, to ride tandem bikes in the event.

Four Ways to Support The Seeing Eye

1. Ride for Us ! If you're up for the challenge, select The Seeing Eye as your nonprofit during online registration. Then use the simple tools to build your own fundraising page and invite friends, family and coworkers to sponsor your effort and The Seeing Eye.

3. Purchase a Custom Seeing Eye^® Jersey! Even if you're not riding in the event, you can support The Seeing Eye by purchasing one of the beautiful custom jerseys pictured above for $100 each. If you would like to purchase a jersey, send an email to ride@seeingeye.org by July 21 and a staff member will contact you to complete the order.

4. Volunteer to help out at the event , from manning the rest stations to working special events like the hill climb. If you are interested in volunteering on either Saturday, August 27, or Sunday, August 28, please register to volunteer online or send an email to ride@seeingeye.org for more information.

 

A Full Weekend of Events - Don't Miss the Expo!

The ride is on Sunday, August 28, but Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27, will feature the Gran Fondo NJ Expo at the Hyatt Morristown, showcasing the best in cycling equipment, accessories, clothing and nutrition. You can expect to find experts in all products and great bargains too! You'll also find The Seeing Eye's table with cool merchandise for sale.
