Randy Ivens retires after 24 years at New Jersey guide dog school

Morristown, N.J. – Joseph Shiarappa has joined The Seeing Eye as the Director of Human Resources.

Prior to joining The Seeing Eye, he served as Director of Human Resources for the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. He also has been the Director of Human Resources for Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, and for The Lawrenceville School. Previously, he was Market Human Resources Manager for Walmart Stores, Inc., and before that, Manager of Employment for the Raritan Bay Medical Center.

“Joe brings considerable experience in every facet of human resources, from hiring new employees to managing retirement benefits,” said Peggi Howard, Interim President & CEO of The Seeing Eye. “We are delighted to welcome him to our team.”

Shiarappa succeeds Randall E. Ivens, who is retiring after 24 years as Director of Human Resources. Prior to joining The Seeing Eye, the Long Valley resident worked for Prudential for 25 years.

“Randy provided wise counsel to four Seeing Eye presidents and to the Board of Trustees,” Howard said. “We will miss not only his advocacy for employees and his love of golden retrievers, but also his great sense of humor as the M.C. at our annual Volunteer Reception.”
