The Seeing Eye Sets $50,000 Goal for #GivingTuesday

Long-time supporters pledge dollar-for-dollar match

Morristown, N.J.- The Seeing Eye has received a pledge from two long-time supporters who will match contributions made to the organization on #GivingTuesday, which is November 29. This will be a dollar-for-dollar match up to $50,000. Donations can be made online at bit.ly/GivingTuesdayTSE and all gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

“We depend upon the generosity of individuals to fulfill our mission to enhance the independence and dignity of people who are blind and visually impaired,” said Seeing Eye President & CEO Jim Kutsch. “All donations made to The Seeing Eye directly support the cost to breed, raise and train our amazing dogs, and provide instruction and support to people from all walks of life who travel to Morristown from across the United States and Canada to be matched with a Seeing Eye dog.”

#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that was founded in 2012 and encourages participation in communities across the United States and the world. Following on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to dates meant for getting deals, the #GivingTuesday movement is for giving back.

Established in 1929, The Seeing Eye provides specially bred and trained dogs to guide people who are blind. Seeing Eye dog users experience greatly enhanced mobility and independence, allowing them to retain their active lifestyles despite blindness. The Seeing Eye is a 501(c)3 non-profit supported by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, bequests, and other planned gifts.
