What We Expect of Students

Applicants to The Seeing Eye should:

• Have sufficient routine to provide a Seeing Eye dog with adequate work
• Have sufficient Orientation & Mobility skills to be able to direct a Seeing Eye dog to known destinations in your home area
• Have the ability to judge traffic audibly
• Arrive for class in good physical and mental health, and be able to walk 2-3 miles daily
• Be capable of independently providing for the care and financial support of a Seeing Eye dog in sickness and in health
• Be in a settled, stable home environment with no move imminent
• Give us a truthful and accurate representation of yourself throughout the application process
