The Seeing Eye in the Sunshine State

On Monday, February 27, more than 80 friends of The Seeing Eye gathered for a special event at the Imperial Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The afternoon was generously hosted for the second year in a row by Naples’s residents and long-time Seeing Eye supporters, Ron and Chris Krawczyk.

Those in attendance heard from Marcus Engel, a Seeing Eye graduate, Florida resident, best-selling author and healthcare speaker. He shared the powerful story of how he lost his vision and the impact The Seeing Eye and his dogs have had on his life.

In addition to hearing Marcus’s compelling speech, attendees were treated to a demonstration from Brian McKenna, Wohlers Family Master Instructor and Senior Manager of Instructor Training,  and Eddie, a 2-year-old black Lab/golden retriever cross Seeing Eye dog in training.

Other members of The Seeing Eye community in attendance included President and CEO Peggi Howard, Chair of the Board of Trustees Cynthia Bryant, and Area Coordinator Shannon Rager with her Seeing Eye puppy Echo, a 5 month old yellow Lab/golden retriever cross.

Thank you to all those who were in attendance and to Ron and Chris Krawczyk for hosting the event.
